One of the most important things that we can do is to pray for each other. Matthew 18:19-21 Jesus Speaking; “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. You feel that you have faith that God will answer your prayer and still you wait with no answer. Then you begin the “why” phase…why is God allowing this to happen, etc. When we ask why it reminds us that we are not God. If we knew the “why” we wouldn’t need faith. I am not trying to present an easy solution to why some prayers seem to go unanswered. “God’s delays are not His denials”… When He answers our prayers it is in His perfect timing. But there are Christians with strong faith have children who die of cancer , children who are murdered , etc….in these cases we will NEVER know the reason why. It is very difficult for us to seperate ourselves from the problem. Unless we seperate ourselves from the problem, we cannot keep our focus on Jesus. Not only did Jesus walk on water but most people forget that the apostle Peter showed great faith and also walked on water until…he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the storm ( the problem )…and then he started to sink..to really go under. When we take our eyes ( our focus ) off Jesus, we Sink. It is very easy to focus on the storm ( the problem that we see ) , and take our eyes off of Jesus Christ and the faith that any problem requires. It is a test of faith when we are going through a trial. A Christian must walk by faith and not by sight. My personal witness is that God answers prayer in His will, in His Timing, and for our eternal benefit. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Faith as a mustard seed… Matthew 17:20 Faith comes by hearing… Romans 10:17 For we walk by faith…2 Cor. 5:7 Faith working through love…Galatians 5:6 been saved through faith…Ephesians 2:8 taking the shield of faith…Ephesians 6:16 for not all have faith…2 Thess 3:2 without faith it is impossible…Hebrews 11:6 Faith will save the sick…James 5:15 This is one of my favorite verses on faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ( my own paraphrase; the visible of the invisible ).
